Our principal mission is to guide and support people in the pursuit of the best health care available and the best possible medical outcomes – for themselves or for loved-ones.

The process of obtaining quality health care is one of the most stressful experiences faced in a person’s lifetime. The emotional impact of a diagnosis or test result, the deluge of information, the complicated logistics and the significant burden placed on family and friends contribute to this stress. Support Systers, LLC provides patients and their families with extensive services designed to make their medical treatment and health care experience as simple, stress-free and successful as possible.

Support Systers nurses are assigned to individual patients with the mission of maximizing the benefit of every interaction with health care providers, thereby shortening the treatment process and dramatically reducing the mental, physical and financial strain on patients and their families. By providing individualized attention and continuity of care, Support Systers helps clients to receive the best possible health care with the least possible amount of stress.

Support Systers offers its services to people of all ages on a personal and flexible basis. Our goal is to procure the best treatment possible, extend the length of time in which our clients are autonomous in their life choices, and forestall, if not altogether avoid, dependent living. We help our patients achieve an optimal medical outcome by simplifying the health care process, providing individualized services and ensuring continuity of care.

Statement by Founder, Ann Picardo:

As a psychotherapist, I have noticed that many people must face their most frightening and confusing experiences alone. Even with good personal support, there is limited access to professionals. In the doctor’s office, for instance, we are typically under such time pressure that we leave confused or frightened. As we age, we often become more isolated, and we can’t always find people to help us learn the things we need to know. The Registered Nurses of Support Systers will offer education and support to help clients deal with a complex and fast-changing world.

Often family members and loved ones are forced to become caregivers, sometimes at great personal and professional cost, and usually without any training or experience. The task is overwhelming and pitfalls many: mistakes are made, physicians are often frustrated with patient non-compliance, and families must struggle with the stress of making difficult decisions, balancing obligations, and navigating unfamiliar territory. Our nurses are there to relieve much of this burden as they help guide patients and their loved-ones through the increasingly complicated medical maze.

Support Systers, LLC is an idea born out of the century-old concept of social work: very competent people sometimes need help in negotiating their environments. Our nurses will address this issue in the most positive, caring way while facilitating the best health care possible.
