Support Systers Provides Grant To Support Patient and Family Fund at Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center

FLEMINGTON, NJ – Support Systers, LLC of Annandale, NJ, will provide the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center with funding of $3,000 to be applied toward the use of its Patient and Family Services for HRCC patients.

In late 2004, Support Systers was the recipient of a $3000 award from Johnson & Johnson's Campaign for Nursing's Future in recognition of their work to advance the profession of nursing. "There is no more worthwhile application of these funds than to the health of our own community through HRCC's world-class diagnosis, treatment and prevention center," says Steve Kane, President and Chief Operating Officer of Support Systers, LLC.

Support Systers serves the entire State of New Jersey with its unique set of Patient and Family Services. Their highly experienced Registered Nurses act much like surrogate family members as they bring patients to medical appointments on behalf of loved-ones and care givers. They ask physicians and health care providers all of the essential questions that patients often forget to ask, and they make sure that all of the answers, diagnoses and prescriptions are fully understood by patients.

Support Systers coordinates the communication of this information between loved-ones, care givers and health care providers in an effort to increase patient comprehension and compliance, reduce confusion and stress, shorten recovery times, lower costs, enhance the quality of care and improve medical outcomes.
