Support Systers Teams Up with Hunterdon Healthcare System to Improve Community Health

ANNANDALE, NJ – Support Systers, LLC of Annandale, NJ has collaborated with the Hunterdon Healthcare System (HHS) in the pursuit of their mutual mission to improve the quality of health care for area residents.

In June, Support Systers joined the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce Member2Member program by offering a 10% discount all member company employees and their families. Today, Support Systers is pledging an additional 10% of the fees it generates through the Member2Member program to the Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation.

Steve Kane, President of Support Systers says, "As a health care agency serving patients and their families in a very personal, direct way, we are focused on improving the health care and health care experience for these individuals and for our community as a whole. There is no institution in our area more vital to that mission than the Hunterdon Healthcare System, and we feel that full support of their programs and initiatives must be an integral component of our company's strategy and purpose."

Support Systers offers patient and family services through its staff of Registered Nurses who accompany patients on their medical appointments. In this way, they act much like surrogate family members as they ensure optimum communication between patients, caregivers and health care providers. These services are designed to promote patient understanding and compliance while reducing the confusion and stress so many patients and families experience as they try to obtain the highest level of care possible.

The Hunterdon Healthcare System is Hunterdon County's principal health care provider through its member organizations, including the Hunterdon Medical Center, a 176-bed, inpatient and outpatient facility in Flemington, NJ providing comprehensive medical, diagnostic, surgical, behavioral health, rehabilitative and preventative health services. Additionally, HHS's Hunterdon Regional Community Health provides a wide array of community programs and home care services, including hospice care, home health aides, home infusion services and more.

HHS regards Support Systers Patient and Family Services as another critical link in the chain of providing high quality, comprehensive and compassionate health care services to the Hunterdon County community, and HHS welcomes the generous contributions of Support Systers to the Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation toward this goal.
